One of my favorite legacy hotels is the Da Vinci Hotel and Suites suited on Nelson Mandela Square in the Hub of Johannesburg. The mix of classic and modern, along with the monochrome colour palette, creates a sophisticated ambiance perfect for those who wish to relax in style while in Johannesburg. There is an on-site Spa offering a range of treatments, a well-equipped gym, cigar lounge and a gourmet restaurant serving European cuisine and freshly prepared sushi. A Pool deck overlooking the pool, as well as wonderful infinity pool area.
The hotel offers many amenities to its guests who are visiting and the staff are incredibly helpful and polite. The spacious, air-conditioned rooms feature a contemporary white-and-black décor, which I would go far as to say gives a very great Gatsby effect. The bathrooms are incredibly spacious and boasts an large bath tub.
Despite this hotel being one of the most vibrant and busiest hotels in the area, it still offers a relaxing feel if you wish to get away for a few hours.
Having stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions , due to their wonderful staff and location. One of my many favourite activities to do was to sit on the Pool deck overlooking the pool with a few magazines or great company. However, once done I was able to take the lift to the third flour and I would instantly be in the Sandton mall.
Another wonderful facility at the hotel is their breakfast, having stayed at other surrounding hotels in Johanesburg, The Da vinci Hotel breakfast is one of the best in the area. Offering a wonderful English Breakfast, which you able to eat surrounded by a panoramic view of sandton . The breakfast at Da Vinci has something for everyone, A hot breakfast, fresh fruits , the polite staff offer to make fresh Smoothies, A selection of other beverages and Nutella & fruit pancakes at their pancake station which are situation in front of the guests, as well as eggs which ever way you decide.
The Maximillien Restaurant is situated below the reception at the Da vinci restaurant . If you are looking for Italian food, then Maximillien is the ideal spot to enjoy fine dining at its best. The Maximillien Restaurant serves a sophisticated menu in a stylish atmosphere with soft lighting and excellent attention to detail. The food is of the highest standard and the waiters are attentive and polite. Having been guests of the hotel we were allowed to have our lunch at the pool area instead of the restaurant itself. The portions were generous and the food was delectable. The staff were always pleasant and attentive to all of our dining needs.
I would Highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling for a quick business trip, a short weekend or if you thinking about getting away for a lovely lunch for a few hours.
